For the past few days I’ve been feeling down lately. I’m usually extra emotional when Christmas is approaching. I know it’s supposed to be a happy holiday with all the gift giving, family reunions, office parties and charity events, but somehow with all these activities around me, I feel like something’s missing and that gives me a heavy heart. I think this year is more emotional than the past years because last year’s Christmas holiday was awesome for me and I know I wouldn’t be able to experience it this year. I won’t go into details anymore. Let’s just say I was high from love last year. :D
I should blame my hormonal state for wearing too much blue lately. But I can’t really help it since blue is also one of my favorite colors. Here are pictures of the outfit I wore last week.
I guess we all do feel a little depressed sometimes and that’s okay. It’s okay to feel down and blue but it’s how you cope from it that’s important. Like no matter what we encounter in life, it’s how we move on and move forward that’s important. How we should never lose hope of a happy future because we all know everything’s going to be okay eventually. You know what they say, when life gives you lemons, make lemonades.
Wearing an all white ensemble can be tricky. Others who are not really good at pulling it off usually look washed out, bare and boring. But there are a few things that you can do to pull off this style.
When you go for a monochromatic look like an all white ensemble, play around with strong colors for your accents. In my case, I went for a deep shade of red for my lips (MAC Ruby Woo FTW!) and also for my shoes. Another thing to consider is a classic color for your accessories, which is why I chose gold for my look. Gold and white will always go perfectly together as it creates a posh and classy outfit.
So what do you think of my look? How about sharing me your thoughts on the comments below or maybe even your links to your own monochromatic looks?
The red-blue-white combination has always been classy for me. It also looks really friendly for me. I guess it’s because it’s such a basic styling technique that anyone can easily pull off.
The dress was pretty perfect for the blazing hot weather earlier. It also went well with my new pumps (thank God I used them already after like 2 weeks). Plus the cloth felt breezy that even though it was hot, I wasn’t sweating alot. The cute umbrella details made it a great dress that can be worn on casual days. And because of the color combination, I fell in love immediately after seeing this online!
How about you guys, what’s your favorite color combination?
Wearing something bright and colorful will also make your day bright and colorful. If you are feeling a bit gloomy or sad or maybe even depressed, try wearing something vibrant. It will definitely make you a little bit happier. It’s like your own version of an “upper” drug. Atleast this one is safe and would never ruin anyone’s future. Hihi. Although, avoid something too flamboyant or flashy especially if it’s blazing hot outside. You don’t want to blind other people. LOL
TIP: If you wear something “lively” like this dress, tone down your accessories. Your dress is the focus of the whole outfit. ;)
I really love this vintage dress. It was a hand-me-down from my Tita. She used to wear this one during the 70s, probably when she’s going out with a date or with friends. How amazing is that, right? I find clothes with backstories interesting. That’s probably why I’m a huge fan of vintage shopping. Not to mention ransacking my Mom’s closet. Haha!
What about you? Do you guys own a vintage clothing that has an interesting backstory?
If you follow me on my social media accounts (see sidebar), you may already know how much of a crazy cat lady I am. LOL. It was really funny that our new adopted kitty, Merrel, joined me earlier in taking my ootd shots. I have to say that for a male kitten, he surely loves the camera. Haha!
Anyway, back to my outfit. I found this Jumpsuit while shopping at the Zara store in China. I fell inlove immediately after seeing it. I didn’t even bother to check the price tag. I must say that this is one of my favorite purchases from Zara. I’m a huge fan of the brand but they can be expensive at times. I was really happy with the price of this jumpsuit though. For some reason, Zara in China is cheaper compared here. Probably because their products are made in Vietnam and other parts of China. And for that reason alone, I am definitely going back to China!
