Not So Dirty Hippie

I was thrilled to see that the 70s fashion made a comeback this year. When I saw the Mango and Zara campaigns, I was so excited knowing I could finally buy a good pair of flared jeans. I have always adored that kind of jeans as they compliment the curves and with the right styling, could make your booty pop.

I was fortunate the boyfriend showed me this part of Stockton with a very pleasant view. We couldn’t help but take many pictures so please excuse me for posting too much. LOL.

Some people have been asking me where I buy my clothes. I am blessed that I am here in the States right now so I can take advantage of the branded things that I’ve always wanted. Back in the Philippines, it’s really hard to find a certain brand. Good thing that Zara and Mango is available in most urban cities like Manila and Cebu. But whenever I have that itch to go shopping for something trendy, I usually shop at Zalora and many other IG shops. Aside from having Mango and River Island, Zalora has their own line too which in my opinion is very trendy and not expensive at all.

If you guys have any other questions, you can reach me thru my email (mgyromero@hotmail.com) or maybe message me on my Facebook Page. You can also check my Instagram account and leave a comment there too. I’m actually nice, I promise :D

I arrived in the US last week and one of the first thing I did was go shopping. Duh. LOL. The last time I was here, I wasn’t able to visit the Paragon Outlets in Livermore and I really wanted to check out the place since it’s one of the few shopping centers (nearest to where I am staying) that has a Prada outlet.

The place was really nice. It actually has more luxury shops compared to the outlets I’ve been to. They even have Saks Fifth, Barneys, Burberry and some more expensive boutiques that I couldn’t remember. Hihi. And being an average earning woman, I wanted to check out luxury brands that I might afford. Most of these shops were 50 to 75% off. For example, there was this Prada Tessuto bag which was around $600 only. I was really tempted to buy but I told myself that I should wait until I am going back home. :D I actually have that kind of attitude when it comes to buying expensive stuff (500$ up). I have to wait for a few more days before purchasing. I just hope no one buys it first or else I’ll be incredibly disappointed. Haha!

How about you guys? What’s your attitude when it comes to shopping? Do you immediately buy the thing that you want regardless of their price? Or do you wait for a few more days to be sure?

When I first heard this Ed Sheeran song, I didn’t even know that it was from the movie, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. It’s probably because I haven’t seen the movie yet, or any of the The Hobbit film series. But no worries my fellow geeks, I am planning to watch the series including a re-watch of the whole The Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Anyway, when I first heard the said song, I immediately thought about what’s happening with our world right now. Did you know that with China’s territorial claims in the South China Sea, we could experience World War III anytime soon? The whole ISIS thing in the Middle East is already something we should be worried about but an impending World War? That just takes the Middle East crisis to a whole new level. And don’t even get me started on the issues of Global Warming and Climate Change.

I am your typical lurker at reddit and a follower of Rappler and other news sites (that I don’t find biased) on Twitter so I can be more updated of what is truly happening with the world. And if there’s one thing I’ve realized, that is today is not the best time for apathy. Our generation should be more focused on finding solutions for these problems, rather than concentrate on blaming the generation of baby boomers. We could use our social media knowledge to campaign for the betterment of our world, to debate on these topics and discuss how we can contribute and help, in our own little way. I mean, if we have time for taking selfies and sharing funny memes, maybe we can also give time on supporting peace through joining petitions and sharing them on social media.

I am not saying that I am a perfect member of society and that you should follow me. Heck, most of the time I can also be apathetic and selfish. But with everything that is currently happening…it’s definitely something to think about. Don’t you think?

If this is to end in fire
Then we should all burn together
Watch the flames climb high into the night
