Somersaults in Spring

Rolling over the edge
Sleeping underneath the tidal wave
Waking up in my bed
Getting ready for another day
Why should I feel exhausted
From taking up this space?
Just let it remain

I lie and listen to the rain
(It’s love starting, repeats again)
Turn off the light and see your face
(I trace the shape, the path it takes)
It’s not just the love that we make
That we’re gonna take

I watched Stuck in Love recently and I gotta say, it was one heartwarming, not at all makabitter and just plain makahappy movie. The movie was about writing, life, family and love. I dunno about you but I loved it. Plus their soundtrack was just really amazing. I had to research and download it after watching because I just fell in love with their music. And if you guys haven’t seen the movie yet, you should definitely watch it!

Anywho, back to my outfit. Like the movie, I fell inlove with that dress upon seeing them at a mall in Ningbo. Even though buying it was a challenge because not one person spoke English in the whole floor of the mall, I still bought it. That’s me and shopping. If I really want something, I’ll do anything and everything just to get it.

What about you? What’s your shopping attitude?

I have always been a fan of the lakas makasosyal (classy) style. One of the things that I love when I “power dress” is how people treat you differently. I know, it’s very mababaw of me to think that way but I’m telling the truth. People tend to judge on how you look from the outside. Call me pretentious or mayabang or judgmental, BUT THAT IS THE TRUTH. For example, I went to a client wearing this outfit and the security guard didn’t check my bag or asked for an ID. It was also raining so he even asked me if he could assist me with an umbrella. On days that I look casual, security guards would never treat me like that. LOL

I don’t know about you but I love looking classy and elegant. And what I love even more about it is that I can look like I’m wearing YSL or Gucci from head to foot but I’m not actually wearing expensive clothing. I find it magical whenever people compliment me of how sophisticated my style is but they don’t know that I’m actually wearing something thrifted or borrowed from Mom.

You see, looking tailored, chic and upscale doesn’t have to be expensive. I may have said that alot of times but it is just so true. The thing is you just have to know what looks good on you, add a little bit of research from your style inspirations, mix some gold or silver accessories, and viola, you’ll be looking like a million dollars. But hey, this needs a lot of practice! Not everyone can look put together like Victoria Beckham or Olivia Palermo. They themselves had years of practice and experience.

So go, explore and definitely have fun!

Pastel Overload

It’s time to bring out those pretty pastel clothes we’ve been saving for Summer!

The heat here in Gensan is sometimes unbearable. Summer is indeed upon us, as well as the El Niño phenomenon. So you guys need to protect yourselves by wearing sunglasses and sunscreens. I have very sensitive skin and I’m not really a fan of sticky lotions so I usually opt for breezy long sleeved tops. Pastel colored clothing is also a friendly choice so as not to blind people more with neon colored things. LOL. And last but not the least, we all need to conserve energy and water. It’s crucial at times like this.

Forgive me for posting too many pictures. I just can’t help but post my wacky pose. Hihi :D

Anywho, back to my topic…ONLINE SHOPPING. It’s true though, it’s like receiving gifts. The only difference from the usual gift giving is just, it comes from you! LOL. I mean who wouldn’t love receiving parcels and packages from couriers with your name on it, right? Or is it just me? Nah. I doubt it. Everyone loves receiving gifts!

My only problem with online shopping is that sometimes it takes longer than their promised arrival date. I mean, I would understand if you actually informed me that I have to wait 15-30 days for my order. Or you emailed me telling me that the parcel was lost and was sent back to the seller. But not doing anything about it? That’s a HUGE NO-NO!

With regards to what I’m wearing on this blogpost, I gotta say that I had no problems with the shops where I bought those apparels from. So I would highly recommend them to all of you, specially to Philippine residents. :)

I had my fair share of good and bad experiences with Online Shops. So to all online sellers out there, you take good care of your customers!

Yes, I am a part of the Twenty-Something Generation or what people call Generation Y or Millenials or The ME ME ME Generation according to TIME Magazine. Excuse me, but I beg to differ and this Thought Catalog article, explains it all.

Anyways, enough of what society thinks about us or me. They aren’t that important anyway. In my 24 years of existence, I have learned that what’s important is what your heart tells you. What you truly desire. That’s what inspired me to start this blog in the first place. Because I love fashion and style and travel and everything in between and no one should stop me from sharing those things to you. That means, you shouldn’t hinder yourself from showing and sharing what you love. It will make you happy, trust me (unless it’s illegal or if you’re into murdering stuff, I beg you to stop and get some help).

For those who is sharing the same birth day with me, happy birthday to us all! I hope you are also doing what you love. You deserve to be happy. :)
